Here is an old Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial that I found on YouTube. This probably was one of the key commercials in showcasing why Mitsubishi named a car the Eclipse. Very good marketing position by Mitsubishi by showing off a car and explaining why they named it what they did.
Eclipse – Noun – “The motion of one heavenly body passing in front of another.”
Eclipse – Verb – “To surpass, to cast in shadow, To leave others behind”
